Love dogs? Prefer sidewalks to cubicles?
Love dogs? Prefer sidewalks to cubicles?
Have you ever caught yourself thinking...
"I wish I could work with dogs all day."
Or maybe...
"I like being active. I'd rather spend my day outside than behind a desk."
If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
The Monster Minders has been walking dogs throughout Philadelphia since 2005. Over the last 20 years, we've completed nearly one million walks and built a reputation as one of Philly's most trusted dog walking companies.
We're looking for dependable, compassionate people who love dogs, enjoy working independently, and want to build lasting relationships with clients and their pups.
Available Schedules
We currently have openings for:
Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Applicants must be available every weekday for their selected schedule.
Why Work Here?
Unlike many dog walking companies, we're not built around the gig economy.
When you join The Monster Minders, you're hired as a W-2 employee with a consistent weekday schedule, Paid Time Off, workers' compensation coverage, paid training, and ongoing support from a family-owned business that's been part of the Philadelphia community for over 20 years.
Our clients count on us, and they love getting to know the people who care for their dogs. We're looking for someone who wants to become part of those daily routines, not just pick up a few walks when it's convenient.
What You'll Do
- Complete 8 to 10 dog walks each weekday
- Safely handle dogs of different sizes, breeds, and personalities
- Write thoughtful visit updates and communicate professionally with clients
- Work comfortably in rain, snow, heat, and everything in between
- Complete Pet First Aid & CPR certification, paid training, and occasional paid staff meetings
What We're Looking For
- Experience handling or caring for dogs
- Strong written communication skills
- Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule
- The physical ability to comfortably walk 6 to 7 hours throughout the workday
- Reliable transportation (bike, scooter, motorcycle, or car)
- Comfort working outdoors year-round in a variety of weather conditions
- Confidence handling dogs of different sizes, breeds, and energy levels
- A commitment to staying in the position for at least one year
Benefits & Perks
- Employee position (W-2), not independent contractor work
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Competitive pay plus tips and direct deposit
- Workers' compensation coverage
- Paid training and ongoing support
- Consistent weekday schedule with established clients
- Optional social events including happy hours, book club, bonfires, and pizza nights
Why People Stay
There are plenty of apps where you can compete for individual walks.
That's not what we do.
Our employees have established schedules, dependable paychecks, and clients they get to know over time. Most of our employees stay for years, not months. That's good for our clients, good for our dogs, and good for the people who work here.
If you're looking for meaningful work, fresh air, and a career built on trust instead of algorithms, we'd love to hear from you.
There is a better way to walk dogs.
